Inexpensive Halloween Drive-In Nights Presented by Fresh Air Cinema this October 2017

Outdoor movie screen

Halloween is a holiday that brings lots of fun and spooky events around Metro Vancouver.  This year, Fresh Air Cinema is bringing ten great Halloween movies to three different cities for a Halloween drive-in theatre series for less.

For five nights, you can catch one of ten great Halloween movies from the comfort of your car.  One movie costs $20 plus taxes and fees for yourself and one carload of up to seven people (depending on how many belted seats you have in your vehicle of course) and $30 plus taxes and fees if you’d like to see a double feature.  If you can get seven other people in your vehicle, that’s less than $3 per movie.

The Friday night movies on October 20 & 27 will be held at Cloverdale Rodeo Fairgrounds in Surrey.  The four movies that will be playing are Beetlejuice, The Silence of the Lambs, Hocus Pocus, and Halloween.

The Saturday night movie nights take place at River District in Vancouver on October 21 & 28.  The four movies that will be playing at this location will include E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Friday the 13th Part 3 3D, Casper, and The Shinning.

The last drive-in movie night will be held on Monday, October 30 at Semiahmoo Park in White Rock.  The two movies that will play that night will be The Nightmare Before Christmas and Ghostbusters.

You will need to purchase your tickets beforehand, online, as you won’t be able to buy tickets at the gate.  Also, be sure to have your FM radio working as this event requires you to tune in to hear the audio for the movie.  You’ll also want to arrive early to get the best parking spot possible.

To learn more about the event or to purchase tickets, visit the Fresh Air Cinema Halloween Drive-In website.

Zombie Walk Returns to Vancouver on September 10 2016 with Free Admission

The apocalypse is coming.  The dead are about to come alive in Vancouver.  This September, the annual Zombie Walk returns.

On September 10, Vancouver’s largest public flash mob of zombies takes place.  It’s a walk in downtown Vancouver that’s open to the public of all ages and it’s free to attend.  Join in this year’s walk with your best zombie costume with lots of blood, gore, ripped clothing and everything eerie.  Participants costumes are so good that you just might mistake this event as the apocalypse that we’ve been (preparing for) seeing in some of the hit zombie TV shows and movies.

The walk starts out at the Vancouver Art Gallery steps on the Robson Street side.  The route continues West on Robson then left on Denman and will end at the laughing statues in English Bay.  The walk begins at 4 pm, but participants will start dragging their feet in at 3 pm.

So get your most frightening costume together and spread the infection with other walkers, runners and every other zombie at the annual walk.

For more information, visit the Facebook Event Page.  You can also visit the Vancouver Improv Anywhere official website as they’re organizing this awesome scary event!

And if you’d just like to know more about zombies, visit Zombiepedia.

Comment below and share your ideas for zombie costumes.  We’d love to hear from you!

Beautiful White Rock offers many favourite summertime activities to locals.  From swimming and tanning on the beach to walks along the beach to free TD Concerts at the Pier, White Rock is a hot spot for many.  But a favourite event of so many is the White Rock Sea Festival and it returns this summer for it’s 67th year.

The White Rock Sea Festival offers a variety of awesome events over three days this coming weekend.  Some of the activities included are the Westcoaster’s Daze Car Show, an outdoor movie by Fresh Air Cinema, live entertainment, yoga, skimboarding, marketplace, kids sports and activities, fireworks, torchlight parade and more.  Best of all, this is a free event to attend!

The annual event is being held from July 29 – 31 in White Rock.  Parking can be tough to find, but there will be a hop-on, hop-off trolley along Marine Drive in White Rock.

The White Rock Sea Festival is one of my favourite events in Metro Vancouver, hands down.  This event has so many great activities lined up and offers something for everyone!  If you have some free time, this is one event you won’t want to miss out on.
