Vancouver Expands WiFi Network to Over 500 Locations Across the City

False Creek Vancouver

Phone bills these days can be quite expensive.  With the popularity of wanting to stay connected through social media, web browsing and email, we can quickly use up our data on our phones before the months up.  The City of Vancouver has just made a big announcement that will help eliminate those overage data usage charges.  The city has just activated over 500 free public WiFi spots in Vancouver.

The project #VanWIFI currently has 550 free public wifi locations throughout Vancouver.  They’ll be adding more locations to the list as well.  This will make Vancouver one of the largest free public WiFi providers in North America.

These 550 WiFi locations are at Vancouver Public Library locations, city administration buildings, and #VanWiFi locations.

For more information on WiFi locations or how to connect, visit the City of Vancouver website.

Cheap Eats: Free and Inexpensive Food and Drinks on Halloween Day 2017 in Vancouver

doughnut

Halloween is here.  It brings spooky times, jack o’lanterns, and trick or treating.  And for those of us that don’t trick or treat anymore, I’ve found some great cheap and free eats for Halloween.  This Halloween, you can celebrate with a free tea, a free doughnut, $1.50 scoops of ice cream, and $3 burritos.  The four offers come from Krispy Kreme, DAVIDsTEA, Chipotle, and Baskin Robbins.  Be sure to read on for all the details about these offers.

Today, October 31, you can get a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts simply by showing up in your Halloween costume at a participating Krispy Kreme location in Canada and the United States.  You’ll get one delicious free doughnut of your choice during store hours while supplies last.  The nearest Krispy Kreme location in Vancouver is in Delta, but it’s definitely worth the drive for these delicious doughnuts.

You can also snag a free tea today.  DAVIDsTEA will be giving away a free tea of the day when you wear your costume to the store on October 31.  They’ll have three tea’s on tap for the tea of the day, including, magic potion, organic stormy night, and pumpkin chai.  There are lots of DAVIDsTEA locations throughout Metro Vancouver, so you should be able to find one close by.

Another great offer is from Chipotle, where you can grab a $3 burrito.  All you have to do is show up in your costume from 3 pm to close and you can buy a $3 burrito, bowl, salad, or order of tacos.  You’re limited to one per customer and there may be additional taxes, but I’d say that’s one great deal.  To find a location near you, visit the Chipotle website.

Baskin-Robbins is another place that will be offering a sweet treat at a great price.  Today, during store hours, you can get scoops of ice cream for $1.50 on all ice cream flavours.  Waffle cones and toppings are at an additional cost though.  The offer is valid at participating stores, and this is one where you don’t have to show up in costume as it’s a tribute to their original 31 flavours every 31st day of the month, which happens seven times a year.  To find a location near you, visit the Baskin-Robbins website.

That sums up these four great offers on one awesome day, Halloween.  Be sure to visit the stores website for more information, complete details and participating locations.  Happy Halloween!
