Abbotsford Bloom Tulip Festival Returns for Spring 2017 in Abbotsford, BC

Abbotsford Tulip Festival

Get out and enjoy a breath of fresh air this spring.  The Abbotsford Tulip Festival returns for the 2nd annual year.

The Abbotsford Tulip Festival opened on April 10 to showcase the 3 million tulips that grow in the field.  With a cold winter, the tulips are still blooming, but it shouldn’t be long before they all show their beautiful colours as pictured above.  The festival will be ongoing until May 7 though, so that gives you lots of time to see the beautiful flowers.

Admission prices begin at $2 for local Abbotsford residents after 3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and goes up to $30 to for special access to the fields during sunrise on the weekends.  If you’re looking for a deal and aren’t a local Abbotsford resident, the best deal is during the week for $8, ages 13-64.  Plus, if you go during the week, you beat the busy crowds, so that’s a bonus too!  All tickets include parking too.

For more information, please visit the official Abbotsford Bloom Tulip Festival website.

poppyforremembranceday

Remembrance Day is a time to honour our veterans and armed forces.  Millions of Canadians gather each year on the 11th day of the 11th month of the 11th hour to take a moment in silence to remember those who fought and those who serve to protect our freedom and to make this world a safer place.  This years Remembrance Day falls on Friday, November 11.  Remembrance Day ceremonies are held across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.  We’ve comprised a list of the cities in the Lower Mainland with a link to each cities ceremonies that specify event details, including specific locations and times.  If you’re not able to make a Remembrance Day ceremony, show your support by wearing a poppy and observing a moment of silence wherever you are.
