Free concerts in the park are back for another year in the City of Surrey this summer. That’s right, the Sounds of Summer Music Series is back.
Enjoy free outdoor live performances every Wednesday from June 28 – August 30. The free concerts will begin at 6:30 pm and go until 8 pm each evening. As an extra bonus this year, they’ve added three daytime performances from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm on Wednesday July 12 & 19 and August 23. Each week, the concerts will be held at different parks around the City of Surrey. Just make sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating to sit back and relax in these beautiful settings.
The music series will run over a total of ten weeks and will feature thirteen different bands. Each live performance will be a different genre of music from around the world. The genres will be everything from bluegrass to folk rock to Chinese Fusion to Caribbean Fusion to Indian & Pakistani Sitar & Tabla and so much more.
This year will also include a special celebration for Canada’s 150th Birthday. On opening night and the grand finale night, there will be Canada 150 celebrations.
Please note, all pets must be on a leash and some gardens do not permit pets, except service dogs.
If you haven’t visited the parks listed in the Sounds of Summer Music Series schedule, I highly recommend clicking on the links in the schedule to view pictures of these parks. These parks are beautiful and look to be the same parks in famous pictures and movies. With a beautiful backdrop and a free night of music, this event should be on every locals summer bucket list!
