Free Two-Day Outdoor Music Festival, “Let’s Hear it! Live” in Vancouver on March 23, 2018 & March 24, 2018

The JUNO Awards is coming to Vancouver on Sunday, March 25, 2018.  With this event on its way, there are lots of free music events happening around the city.  The latest event to be added is a two-day music festival called Let’s Hear it! Live – Vancouver.

On Friday, March 23 from 12 pm-9 pm and on Saturday, March 24 from 12:50 pm-9 pm, you can enjoy the two-day music festival at the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery in Downtown Vancouver.  The festival is presented by CBC Vancouver and CBC Music, and supported by Creative BC & The Province of British Columbia.  The event will feature top talent from around BC in various music genres and will be hosted by CBC favourites Dan Burritt, Gloria Macarenko, Julie Nesrallah, Stephen Quinn, and Lien Yeung.

Sea to Sky Gondola Free For Kids Ages 12 & Under From March 17, 2018 – March 29, 2018

Spring is almost here.  It brings sunny weather and lots of free events.  This Spring, the Sea to Sky Gondola has a free event that starts this weekend.

The Sea to Sky Gondola is offering free rides for up to three children 12 & under when they are accompanied by an adult or senior.  The Secret Spring Break Deal is happening from Saturday, March 17 to Thursday, March 29 during business hours.  To receive free ride tickets for children, an adult or senior must purchase a day ticket along with mentioning the Secret Spring Break Deal at the ticket window.

The Sea to Sky Gondola has lots of activities, including snowshoeing, tubing, playgrounds and exploring.  Some of these activities are at an additional cost.  In addition to these activities, there will be children’s activities at the summit.

Free Ice Cream at Milkcow on Saturday March 17, 2018 & Sunday March 18, 2018

Milkcow Cafe is a popular Korean desert cafe that has opened in Canada with its first location in Richmond, BC.  To celebrate the grand opening, Milkcow is offering a sweet deal for its customers this weekend.

On Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18, the first 100 customers will receive a free ice cream of the day.  After 100 customers, there will still be a sweet deal with a buy one ice cream and get the second ice cream of the day for free.  The ice cream of the day will be Milk Honey on Saturday, March 17 and Black Pearl will be served on Sunday, March 18.  The grand opening takes place at Milkcow, 1-5 – 5669 Hollybridge Way in Richmond.  Milkcow Cafe is open on Saturday and Sunday from 2 pm-11 pm.

Free Event: JUNO Photography Exhibition From March 12, 2018 – April 7, 2018

Vancouver is hosting the JUNO Awards on Sunday, March 25, 2018.  With this event approaching soon, there are a lot of other JUNO events happening around the city to enjoy.  One of the other events that is happening is the JUNO Photography Exhibit and it’s completely free.

From March 12 until April 7, you can check out the photography exhibit at the Pendulum Gallery in Vancouver.  The event runs Monday to Friday from 9 am-5 pm.  The exhibit showcases the past 40+ years of Canadian music and the JUNO Awards.  It features photos that capture candid moments backstage, performances on-stage, the JUNO Awards’ 40th Anniversary book photos, and never before seen photos taken by Canada’s foremost rock roll photographers.  Some of the photos featured in the exhibit were taken by iPhoto Inc., Barry Roden, Bruce Cole, Grant Martin, Tom Sandler, George Pimental, Alex Urosevic, and Ryan Bolton.

Free Event: JUNO Fan Fare Presented by CBC Music on March 24, 2018

Vancouver is hosting the JUNO awards later this month.  With this award show, there comes lots of celebrations leading up to the big event, including some free shows.  CBC Music will be presenting a free event called JUNO Fan Fare on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

The JUNO Fan Fare is your chance to take a selfie with your favourite artist.  There are three time slots from 12 pm-3 pm on Saturday, March 24 at Metropolis at Metrotown, where you can take a selfie with your favourite artist from one of the six groups you choose from.  The artists that will be at the event, include, Aaron Pritchett, Arkells, Chad Brownlee, Dallas Smith, Dan Davidson, Daniel Caesar, High Valley, James Barker Band, Jess Moskaluke, Marianas Trench, Lights, Ria Mae, Ruth B., Scott Helman, Shawn Hook, Theory, Tim Hicks and Virginia to Vegas.

At the event, there will be live performances by Jess Moskaluke, High Valley, Ria Mae, Scott Helman, and Tim Hicks.  The event will also have a live DJ, DAVE (Dave Ritter of The Strumbellas).  The entire event will be hosted by CBC Music’s Odario Williams, Amanda Parris and CBC Vancouver’s Anita Bathe.  While there, you also have a chance to win giveaways, including JUNO Awards merchandise and 2018 JUNO Awards Red Carpet passes.

The event is completely free, but you must order a ticket online beforehand as this is a first-come, first served basis event.

Climb the Urban Grind at Vancouver’s Harbour Centre this March 2018

Don’t let the Grouse Grind seasonal close get you down this March.  The Vancouver Harbour Centre is offering another great alternative for fitness enthusiasts.  The Urban Grind is back for another year.

Every Tuesday in March from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm, Vancouverites can take the trek up 633 steps to the top of Vancouver’s Harbour Centre.  The 28 flight of stairs might sound intimidating, but the reward is priceless. Once you reach the top, you’ll have 360º aerial view of Vancouver.  But that’s not the only reward, you’ll also get a free beer and a $5 voucher for the Harbour Centre food court with a $5 entry fee.  That means it’ll be pretty much free if you take advantage of the food and beer.  Day admission to the top for adults is $17.50, so this is one heck of a deal if you’re up for a challenge!

Free Pancakes at IHOP’s National Pancake Day on Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Big news!  National Pancake Day is tomorrow.  IHOP is celebrating this day by offering free pancakes.  That’s right, you smelled….I mean, heard that right, free flapjacks, hotcakes, griddlecakes or as Canadians like to call them, pancakes.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 7 am-7 pm, you can enjoy a free short stack of (3) original buttermilk pancakes at participating Canadian and U.S. IHOP locations.  IHOP is encouraging guests to make a donation that will help children battling critical illnesses.  IHOP hopes to reach it’s goal of raising $5 million to support local children’s hopitals and organizations.  Since 2006, IHOP franchisees and guests have raised close to $30 million for their community partners.

Free Admission to the Museum of Vancouver this Family Day, Monday, February 12, 2018

Family day in BC is almost here.  If you’re looking for something fun and inexpensive to do to celebrate this holiday with your loved ones, the Museum of Vancouver will be offering free admission.

On Monday, February 12, 2018, the Museum of Vancouver is offering free admission to all ages.  The museum will be open from 10 am-5 pm.  The museum will offer special activities for the kids from 11 am-4 pm.  Activities for the kids will include storyboarding, drawing, paper cut-outs, and a soundtrack creation led by accomplished filmmakers and animators from Reel 2 Real Film Festival.

This event is a great way to spend the day with loved ones, especially because it’s completely free.  At the museum, regular adult admission is $19 plus tax, as well as, a youth’s admission is $9 plus tax, so this is a huge savings all around.

Get Married For Free This Weekend at Robson Square in Vancouver on February 11, 2018

Love is in the air.  Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and for those who are taken, you’re probably looking for ways to celebrate your love with your significant other.  Well look no further, because this Valentine’s Day you can celebrate your love by getting married for free.

Pop Up Weddings is bringing back Love In The Square for it’s fourth year.  This special event offers couples the chance to get married in Downtown Vancouver for a very small donation.  The donation to elope this weekend is a minimum of $20, with a 100% of the proceeds going to the Vancouver Food Bank.  It is also required that you bring a properly-filled out marriage license, as well as your significant other, because well frankly, you can’t marry yourself.

Love In The Square will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 11 am-3 pm.  The event is first come first served and registration for the event starts at 10 am.  At the time of registration, you will be given a ceremony time.  Your ceremony will include a photographer and officiant, as well as, the ceremony will have decorations, flowers, and even wedding arches.
