Free and Inexpensive Summer Night Markets in Metro Vancouver

Night markets are back in Metro Vancouver for the 2017 Spring and Summer season.  Night markets run on weekends at night and are a favourite activity for locals.  They are inexpensive to attend, with some even offering free admission!  Overall, night markets are an affordable, low cost night of fun where you can enjoy a night of delicious food (seriously, mouth-watering), great deals on merchandise and great entertainment, all in one place.  But that’s not all you’ll find at the night markets, some of them offer kids games and rides, beer gardens (19+),  organic foods including produce and meat, light shows, and so much more! 

If you haven’t been before, be prepared with cash, good shoes (because you’ll want to spend all night there), and an empty stomach.  Each and every market differs from the next, so make sure to check them all out this summer!

Shipyards Night Market 

The Shipyards Night Market believes in local lifestyles, showcasing BC artisans, bakers, farmers, and talent.  While there, you can enjoy live music, delicious food, entertainment, art, and shopping!  At the market, you can shop for products such as, jewelry, clothing, kids wear, bakers, produce, preserves, soaps, organic meats, honey, plants, chocolates, and much more!  You can also bring your dog as dogs are allowed at the Shipyards Night Market.  The market also has a beer garden (must be 19+) that features local craft beer, ciders, vodka and gin.  Visit the Shipyards Night Market for more information.

Illumination Summer Night Market 

The market holds more than 200 food and merchandise booths and hosts more than 20 performance shows.  You can also enjoy North America’s first and largest summer light show with nine different themes.  There is also free parking in the parking lot. Visit the Illumination Summer Night Market for more information.

Richmond Night Market 

At the market you can enjoy delicious food from from around the world, enjoy carnival games and rides, visit the Magical Dino Park, enjoy nightly entertainment performances, and shop for merchandise from over 200 vendors!  Pick up a “Coupon Book” at the entrance or at the info booth area for coupons offering over $250 in savings!  Visit the Richmond Night Market website for more information.

Fridays on Front

The market will feature artisan vendors from the New West Farmers Market and New West Craft, live music from the New Westminster Arts Council, and of course, our favourite Food Trucks form the Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest.  Visit the Downtown New Westminster website for more information.

Cheap Eats: Spaghetti Dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory

Mamma Mia!  I’ve found another great cheap eat in Metro Vancouver, but this time it’s for dinner!  The Italian eatery, The Old Spaghetti Factory, offers some great every day low prices on their spaghetti dinners.

Every weekday during The Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant hours, you can enjoy spaghetti dishes for as low as $10.65.  The spaghetti dishes that are the lowest prices begin with the spaghetti classics with prices going up for the pasta dishes.

Some of the classics include:

  • Spaghetti with marinara sauce for $10.65
  • Spaghetti with meat sauce for $11.85
  • Spaghetti with mushroom sauce for $11.90
  • Spaghetti with spicy meat sauce for $11.95
  • Pot-Pourri Spaghetti with Meat, Mushroom and Clam Sauce for $12.55
  • Spaghetti with Clam Sauce for $12.65

You can also order more pasta dishes that are a little bit more money than the above.  The Old Spaghetti Factory also offers some other great entree’s including chicken, ribs, steak and salads.

Admission: $2 for Adults.  Free Admission for: families of all Canadian Forces personnel and Veterans, children less than 48″ in height when accompanied by their families, wheelchair borne persons and their attendants, seniors over 65 years with proper ID, and anyone who brings a non-perishable food item or a new toy (to be donated to local food banks or charities).

Cheap Eats: $3.69 Burger!

Tuesday’s are commonly referred to as “Cheap Tuesday”.  It’s a day where you can find numerous deals at entertainment venues, restaurants, stores, etc.  Which brings me to the next deal.  I’ve found one delicious mouth-watering offer!  Triple “O” Tuesday!  Triple O’s offers an original burger for $3.69, every Tuesday, all day long!  If that’s not enough, you can always combo it up for $3.50 extra!  TRUST ME, if you like burgers, you’ll love these!  It’s the same great taste and quality of White Spot!  Click here to find a location near you!

Longer days and warmer weather is upon us and it’s here to stay for a few months!  This means that summertime fun starts now!  What better way to celebrate summer?  Night markets!  It’s Metro Vancouver’s summer tradition!

Night Markets are a once-in-a-lifetime experience!  It’s a place where you can catch live entertainment and shop for unique and fun merchandise.  Most importantly though, go hungry, because there are lots of delicious mouth-watering foods from a wide variety of vendors.  Each and every night market differs from the next, so make sure to check them all out!
