Vancouverites, don’t let the grouse grind seasonal close get you down this March. Vancouver is offering another great seasonal event for fitness enthusiasts. The Urban Grind is back for the month of March!
Every Tuesday in March from 4 pm-6 pm, Vancouverites can take the trek up the 553-foot-tall building of Vancouver’s Harbour Centre. If that sounds intimidating, it’s really only 28 story floors, to the top! Ha! In all seriousness though, once you get to the top, the views are stunningly beautiful! You’ll get to enjoy 360º aerial view of Vancouver, which includes views of the city, Stanley Park, the North Shore mountains, Gastown and Coal Harbour. Sounds pretty great doesn’t it? What’s even better is it only costs $5, which gets you a free beer and live DJ entertainment at the top, and a $5 voucher at the Harbour Centre food court. It’s pretty much like going for free! Considering day admission costs are $16.25 per adult, this is a huge savings!
To add some motivation, the Harbour Centre will be giving a free backpack to the first 100 people to conquer the Urban Grind on all 5 Tuesdays. They’ll also have powerlifting and calisthenics strength coach, Shawn Adair, on site to lead a stretch, climb and calisthenics workout at 4 pm.
Once completed, hikers can decide to complete the trek as many times as they like for two hours or take the 40 second glass elevator ride down. So what are you waiting for? Pack some water and get your hiking shoes on to enjoy this amazing fitness-filled attraction!
