Halloween 2015: The Lower Mainland’s Free & Cheap Events

Halloween is near.  It’s a time to dress up as whoever you like, pay for thrilling chills, or carve your pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern.  This Halloween, you can have all of that fun, right here, in the Lower Mainland.  There’s everything from haunted houses, to a Halloween parade and expo, to an interactive play with zombies and so much more!  Fear no more though, because I’ve found all of the free and frugal (under $15 per person) events and activities for Halloween.  You’ll even find some family friendly events for the younger kids.  So let’s get started!  Below are the Lower Mainland’s Halloween 2015 events, throughout the month of October.

Mann Farms Corn Maze’s and Pumpkin Patch

What: There is a daytime corn maze, a one-day pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, flashlight corn maze & wagon ride. Click here to find more info.

Where: 790 McKenzie Rd., Abbotsford, BC

Price: Free for the Pumpkin Patch only (pumpkin not incl.) on September 25; Daytime Corn Maze is $4 – season pass holders, $7.50 – child, $9 – adult; Flashlight corn maze & wagon ride is $14, with a non-perishable food item receive a $1 off.

When: August 19 – November 10 – activities vary dates.

Bose Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

What: There is a pumpkin patch, corn maze, pumpkin patch rides, and a fire pit with roasting sticks & marshmallows.  Click here to find more info.

Where: 64th Ave. and 156th St., Surrey, BC at Bose Corn Maze.

Price: $7 Adults, $6 Children (5 – 18 yrs), $6 Seniors 65+, and Children 4 and under are free. $1 off COUPON HERE.  Please note: Cash only.

When: August 22 – October 12; pumpkin patch rides go until October 25 on Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays only. 

Willow View Farms Pumpkin Patch

What: A pumpkin patch, petting zoo, playground, and hay rides. Click here to find more info.

Where: 288 McCallum Rd., Abbotsford, BC at Willow View Farms.

Price: Free; $2 hay rides on weekends; Pumpkins at cost.

When: September 1 – October 31; Mon – Sat from 9 am-5:30 pm & Sundays 11 am-5:30 pm.

Chilliwack Corn Maze & Pumpkin Farm

What: Admission includes corn maze, hay bale maze, animal displays, pedal carts, corn sandbox, kiddy play area, giant jumping pillow, spiders web and picnic area.  Click here for more info.

Price: $11 plus tax (cash/debit only). $10 online.  Children 2 & under are free.

Funland

What: An outdoor Halloween themed adventure area for kids.  Free activities include a jungle gym, sand excavator, tire swing, basketball and a zipline.  All other activities require tickets. Click here to find more info.

Aldor Acres Family Farm Pumpkin Patch

Potter’s House of Horrors

What: One of the top rated haunted house in the Lower Mainland that includes a family hour where there are no actors.  There are also two haunted houses.  Click here to find more info.

Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off

What: A giant pumpkin weigh-off with festivities and events at the farm.  They’ll have everything pumpkin there, incl. pumpkin fudge, pumpkin milkshakes, and more at cost.  Click here to find more info.

Laity Pumpkin Patch

Halloween Pumpkin Express

What: A train ride through a decorated forest.  There are also crafts and activities for children.  Click here to find more info.

The Stanley Park Halloween Ghost Train

What: The night train ride includes a 14 minute experience following our “Classic Horror” theme with lights, sounds, and live performers.  Matinees have displays, but no live performances.  Click here to find more info.

Creatures of the Night

What: Running in conjunction with the Stanley Park Ghost Train.  A theatrical experience with hands-on activities for all ages at the creature feature table and a free lantern-lit walk to learn about Stanley Park’s nocturnal creatures!  Click here to find more info.

The Stanley Park Spooky Barn
