Autumn is here. The stores are now full of different types of pumpkins. Pumpkins of different shapes, sizes and colours, but the most common and familiar pumpkin is the big orange one aka a carving pumpkin. These pumpkins are specifically grown for that reason, for us to create jack-0-lanterns. Fun, right? Well why not bring even more fun by going to the place where they grew, a pumpkin patch farm! Pumpkin patches allow you to pick out your own pumpkin from the field, but they also have many other fun activities around the pumpkin farm. Believe it or not, you’ll find one closer to you than you think! Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley have pumpkin patches in Vancouver, Surrey, Richmond, Langley, Maple Ridge, Chilliwack and Abbotsford. I’ve made a lit of the free and frugal pumpkin patches that are in the Lower Mainland. The list consists of pumpkin patches that are either free admission or less than $15 per person. Keep in mind that the ones that cost a bit more money, usually include some really fun activities. Stay tuned for more frugal Halloween fun posts to come soon!
