‘Tis the season for movies under the stars! Travel back in time with this old style movie theatre from the 20th century and enjoy it now in the 21st century! That’s right, drive-in theatres are making a comeback in Vancouver this summer!
River District and Fresh Air Cinema are hosting a free drive-in theatre! There will be four showings from July 12 – September 6. Over this time, four hit movies will be played, including “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”, “The Outsiders”, and “Stand by Me”. Each movie night there will be a different theme, so come dressed up in attire to correspond with that nights theme!
On-site there will be vendors and food trucks to satisfy all of your cravings! The food vendors will have everything from sweet to savoury treats! Each movie night, the food vendors will differ and also correspond to the theme, so be sure to join the River District’s Facebook page to stay up to date!
Here is the summer 2015 movie schedule:
Sunday, July 12 at 7pm – 80’s theme – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Sunday, July 26 at 7pm – Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Sunday, August 30 at 7pm – 60’s dinner theme – The Outsiders
Sunday, September 6 at 7pm – Camping theme – Stand by Me
