Another week of sunshine is ahead of us!  Although it’s not record-breaking temperatures, it’ll be great weather to be outside!  Incase the weather man is wrong, I’ve included both indoor and outdoor events!  I’ve got 33 exciting events for the week, with 20 of them being free, and the rest are under $15!  This week brings events such as, free yoga, free FIFA Fan Zone, 13 blocks of fun at Italian Day, Pan Am Torch Relay with a free performance by Nikki Yanofsky, and much more!  Be sure to check out the whole list though, as there are many other events you won’t want to miss out on!  Also, for more events this week, check out the post on farmers markets to see a complete list for Metro Vancouver.

1. FIFA Fan Zone – Offers activities for all ages, including live entertainment by talented Canadian bands, soccer demos, athlete autograph opportunities, contests and giveaways, interactive displays, as well as screenings of selected matches and appearances by the official FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 mascot Shuéme.  Click here for more details.  Click here for schedule of events.

9. Lafflines Comedy Club – A comedy club located in New Westminster.

12. Shipyards Night Market – The Shipyards Night Market believes in local lifestyles, showcasing BC artisans, bakers, farmers, and talent.  While there, you can enjoy live music, delicious food, entertainment, art, and shopping!  At the market, you can shop for products such as, jewelry, clothing, kids wear, bakers, produce, preserves, soaps, organic meats, honey, plants, chocolates, and much more!  The market also has a beer garden (must be 19+) that features local craft beer, ciders, wines, and organic Betty’s Vodka Iced Tea.  Click here for more info.

13. In Tune 2015 The Art of Canadian Musicals: Keynote/Cabaret – Starts with a 30 minute keynote address from inspiring Canadian musical theatre icon Marek Norman.  After the speech, there will be songs by eight Canadian musical theatre personalities that will select one song from the Canadian musical theatre canon and publicly defend their selection.  Under Peter Jorgenson’s direction, these lovingly curated songs will be performed cabaret style, with a group of local performers.  Kerry O’Donovan accompanies on piano.  Click here for more info.

14. Super Voices – Award-winning theatre company RealWheels proudly presents Super Voices, a community-based, multimedia performance featuring the amazing talents of the disability community!  Tickets are pay what you can and reservations are highly recommended.  Click here for more info.

15. Kyle Bottom’s Comedy Bucket – Audience members will receive a slip of paper, where they write anything, anonymously.  The comedians talk about what’s on your mind after they receive the bucket that’s full of the paper slips.  Click here for more info.

16. International Summer Night Market – Named one of the top 4 night markets in the world by Travel & Leisure Magazine.  The market has lots of merchandise booths, food and beverage vendors, the Kids Zone, and exciting entertainment every night!  Free street parking, free shuttles from Bridgeport Station, and free Wi-Fi! Click here for more info.

17. Richmond Night Market – At the market you can sample delicious food from food trucks, play carnival games, enjoy nightly entertainment performances, and shop for merchandise from a variety of vendors!  Pick up a “Sweet Deals Coupon Book” at the entrance or at the info booth area for coupons offering over $250 in savings!  Click here for more info.

21. Gordon MacMillan Southam Observatory – Star gazing at it’s finest!  The observatory has a 1/2 metre Cassegrain telescope to see the night skies!  There is staff there to guide you and answer your questions.  For more info, click here.

22. The Cinematheque: 7th Annual Open House with Free Screening – June is Film Lovers Month at The Cinematheque and to celebrate, their doors will be open for a glimpse beyond the screen.  Tour the projection booth, library, and archive. Participate in a “Some Like It Hotthemed activity with their Education Department. Join their donor program. Bid on film posters.  At 2pm, grab a complimentary bag of the city’s best popcorn and watch a free screening of Billy Wilder’s 1959 comedy “Some Like It Hot.  Tickets for movie are first-come, first-served basis day of at 12pm.  Click here for more info.
