Vancouver Public Library’s downtown branch has opened a brand new digital media “Inspiration Lab”, earlier this month. 7,500 square feet in total, it’s a place to create your dreams, imaginations, stories and thoughts through videos, photos, sounds and self-publishing! And it’s all free!
The Inspiration Lab features high-performance computers, analog-to-digital conversion, sound studios, video editing and self-publishing software. VPL will offer programs and one-on-one sessions with staff, for those looking to get some help on their project. They will also be offering special tours every day in May to introduce people to the lab. Stay tuned, because in the coming months they’ll start planning programs with industry experts on film, game development and digital design. These programs will include multi-session workshops and week-long boot camps! Don’t worry, these won’t be those fitness boot camps that we all love to hate or hate to love!
But wait…there’s more! They’re offering free access to the lynda.com service, a popular destination for online courses and video tutorials on design, video, photography, production and more!
I promise, this is not one of those infomercials that seems to good to be true. It’s all free with a VPL card! Simply click here to find out how you can book time in the Inspiration Lab or to register for a program.
