Happy Victoria Day Everyone!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend!  Monday is just around the corner, but don’t you worry, because the fun doesn’t stop!  I’m really excited to share this weeks events because some are exclusive for the holiday and some are really unique!  The best part?  They’re all less than $15 and some events are free (in pink)!  This week includes events like, Rockaoke where you sing with a band, Cloverdale Rodeo, Victoria Day celebrations, and much more!  You don’t want to miss a thing, so be sure to check the whole list of events!  Also, check out the post on farmers markets to see a complete list of Metro Vancouver farmers markets happening during the week.  Share any events and activities I may have forgotten, below in the comments.  Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog by e-mail, RSS feed, or twitter!  Let’s get started!  Here are the events for Monday, May 18 to Sunday, May 24!

1. Cloverdale Rodeo and County Fair – Rodeo, live entertainment, West Coast Lumberjack show, World Freestyle Skateboarding Round Up, The West Fine Art Show, rides, food and beverage vendors, and much more fun!  Please note: Some events cost extra on top of gate admission!  Click here for full details about pricing and here for more event info.

Price: Gate Admission for one day – $12 (Save $2 at selected London Drugs Stores), Kids 12 & under are free

2. GO Fest Whistler – Celebrate the convergence of summer and winter at Whistler’s Great Outdoors Festival with four days of events and activities.  Prices vary by event, some are free.  Events include, sports, art, music, family events, car show, pancake breakfast, and much more!  Click here for more info.

3. Richmond Night Market – At the market you can sample delicious food from food trucks, play carnival games, enjoy nightly entertainment performances, and shop for merchandise from a variety of vendors!  Pick up a “Sweet Deals Coupon Book” at the entrance or at the info booth area for coupons offering over $250 in savings!  Click here for more info.

Price: $2.75 for Regular Admission.  Free Admission for Children 10 & under and Seniors 60 & up.

4. Victoria Day at Burnaby Village – The Burnaby Village is set in the 1920’s.  They will have special entertainment on Monday, including, Tiddley Cove Morris Dancers, a parade, the TraiNgang and 15th Field Regiment Band.  There will also be various vendors on-site, but be prepared to pay with cash.  Click here for more info.

5. Victoria Day at Fort Langley National Historic Site – Explore the fort, visit farm animals, and watch historic weapons demonstrations.  Click here for more info.

Price: Youth – $3.90, Senior – $6.55, Adult – $7.80.  For more admission rates, click here.

6. May Day Fort Langley – May Day Parade starts at 11am.  For parade route, click hereAfter the parade, there will be events held at Fort Langley Community park until 4pm.  Events will include, May Pole Dancing, live entertainment, The Lions BBQ, rides for children, mini golf, vendors, food, and much more!  Click here for more info.

7. James and Jamesy in High Tea – James & Jamesy must cling to their friendship and imagination to stay afloat.  This award-winning British comedy duo tackles complex questions of reality, and in the process sweep the audience into an adventure that highlights the value of imagination and the importance of playing together.  Click here for more info.

19. Kyle Bottom’s Comedy Bucket – Audience members will receive a slip of paper, where they write anything, anonymously.  The comedians talk about what’s on your mind after they receive the bucket that’s full of the paper slips.  Click here for more info.

20. Shipyards Night Market – The Shipyards Night Market believes in local lifestyles, showcasing BC artisans, bakers, farmers, and talent.  While there, you can enjoy live music, delicious food, entertainment, art, and shopping!  At the market, you can shop for products such as, jewelry, clothing, kids wear, bakers, produce, preserves, soaps, organic meats, honey, plants, chocolates, and much more!  The market also has a beer garden (must be 19+) that features local craft beer, ciders, wines, and organic Betty’s Vodka Iced Tea.  Click here for more info.

21. International Summer Night Market – Named one of the top 4 night markets in the world by Travel & Leisure Magazine.  The market has lots of merchandise booths, food and beverage vendors, the Kids Zone, and exciting entertainment every night!  Free street parking, free shuttles from Bridgeport Station, and free Wi-Fi! Click here for more info.

23. Vancouver Shogi Club – Japanese chess in the city of glass.  You don’t need to have shogi experience to play; they will teach you.  Click here for more info.

26. Gordon MacMillan Southam Observatory – Star gazing at it’s finest!  The observatory has a 1/2 metre Cassegrain telescope to see the night skies!  There is staff there to guide you and answer your questions.  For more info, click here.

Where: 1100 Chestnut St., Vancouver, BC.  Located next to the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre.

Price: Only observatory visit by donation.

When: Saturday’s from 8:00pm-12:00am

27. Story Time at Wesbrook Welcome Centre – Join in for stories, songs, and crafts.  All ages welcome and children must be accompanied by an adult.  Click here for more information.

28. Spring Soundwalks – A soundwalk that will investigate neighbourhoods and communities along the peripheral east side of Vancouver’s downtown core, in part retracing and “re-listening” to a 1973 walk entitled A Vancouver Soundwalk.  This approximately 60 to 90 minute exploration weaves through diverse soundscapes, both man-made and natural, inviting the listener to become immersed in the totality of the sonic environment, and to sensually imagine, respond to, and hear often overlooked social environments, communities and other urban places.  Click here for more info.

29. Project Limelight presents East Side Story –  A fun family theatre event featuring young performers from Vancouver’s East Side.  It combines audience interaction, music, comedy, and dance!  Click here for more info.

31. The Cloverdale Market –  Includes a flea market with 200 tables and 100+ outdoor spots selling goods such as, electronics, household items, handmade crafts and artwork, jewellery, clothing and collectibles.  You can also find fresh produce, plants and flowers!  Click here for more info.

32. Baker’s Market 2015 – A market full of baked goods and much more!  Takes place indoors, with free admission, free samples, and free parking.  Click here for more details.
